Q: What is your position on universal health care?
WTW: A crude form of universal health care already exists,
as in the use of hospital emergency rooms by those without insurance. The question is how it can be better funded and administered.
Medicaid and Medicare can be expanded to include those without insurance at reduced rates, but it should be administered at the state
level for better control and oversight. Changing federal regulations to encourage competition and removing health insurance
premiums from taxation will make it more affordable. Portability is also important; insurance policies should follow the
insured and not be restricted by employer.
