Question: If elected, what will you do to help improve Michigan's economy?
Will Tyler White: I will introduce legislation
to dramatically shrink federal government, leaving more revenue and spending at the state and local level. For example, the
Department of Education increased federal spending dramatically, but local schools still struggle and results continue to decline.
Michigan's difficult situation is a state problem as much as federal though. Reforming a criminal justice system that treats
medical problems as criminal will help greatly. More is spent on prisons than on treatment programs or schools, making a bad
situation worse. Replacing income and business taxes with the fair tax and passing right-to-work legislation are important for
economic recovery.
